Cuisinart. The FP-8SV is a food processor designed for a normal kitchen. Not for those
Really finicky about their gadgets and capabilities but for those who only want a
helping hand. If you love your early morning smoothies, hate preparing for it and would
Rather just have the food processor do all of the work, you won't be disappointed. Yes, it is
Underpowered as a result of a meagre 350-watt motor but none of that shows up when
actually using it. The only times you realize the lack of power is when kneading dough
Because it takes longer than it should. Also making nut butter needs a tad bit of oil and
Takes longer than normal. But try doing anything else and the ruggedness of the motor
will leave you impressed.
As for the design, this food processor comes in four different colors. The feed chute is
fused into the lid, which isn't easy to attach. It takes a little getting used and since the
Processor will not start unless all components are locked and latched, you might feel
Frustrated for the first day or two. After a while, locking and latching becomes second
nature. We only wish the feed chute was a tad bit larger. For now, Nearly Every veggie
Or fruit we add has to be sliced up to four or more pieces. Another gripe we harbor
Against this specific model from Cuisinart is the dip in construction quality. Previously,
Cuisinart made processors with heavier base and better plastics overall. Now, the
quality isn't that good. The base is much lighter (maybe because it has a350 watt motor
but still...) and the plastics feel very cheap to us.
Accessories wise, the Cuisinart FP-8SV comes with everything you could ever need. A
kneading head, reversible slicing disc, shredding disc -- all made from stainless steel
too. By the way, it does ship with a S-blade too so blending will not be an issue either.
Chop, puree, mix, blend, knead, emulsify -- do anything and everything with this
processor. Our only qualm is that the lid does not lock tight to the container and this
unfortunately, throws about flour all over the place. Nonetheless, the fact that making
Peanut butter is straightforward and needs hardly any oil does overcome its other quirks.
A suggestion if in case you get a FP-8SV, the buttons May Be rubberized but they are
Bit difficult to push so pulsing is a better option. Unlike other food processors you have
to manually depress the stop button to bring the blades to a complete halt, only during
Pulsing does it operate for as long as you have the pulse button pressed. Thankfully, the
upside to this quirk is that you can knead without being present nearby. Just Begin the
process and come back fifteen to twenty minutes later.
